About This Guide

shapez 2 Guide is an independent, fan-made resource for players solving throughput, layout, and scaling problems in the factory automation sandbox. We focus on the decisions that matter once a factory grows past the tutorial phase: belt logic, train or platform choices, bottleneck diagnosis, and expansion order that does not create chaos three layers later.

The site is intentionally practical. A guide only earns space here if it helps a player ship more shapes, debug a broken line, or choose between competing production patterns. That is why you will see more route and system pages than generic fluff around minor topics.

Factory games create a lot of fake completeness. You can write dozens of pages that name buildings, repeat UI labels, or paraphrase obvious mechanics without helping anyone scale a base cleanly. We try to avoid that trap. The useful page is usually the one that explains why a line jams, when a hub or train solution beats belt sprawl, or how to expand capacity without creating a debugging nightmare later.

That editorial standard shapes the site structure. We bias toward bottleneck diagnosis, throughput ratios, platform and MAM decisions, paint logistics, and upgrade order. If a topic cannot improve an actual factory choice, it does not get elevated just to fill navigation space.

We use official store information, gameplay review, and community testing to keep recommendations grounded. When a ratio assumption, blueprint path, or transport recommendation no longer survives current behavior, we would rather rewrite the route than keep a polished but misleading answer online.
